Raum de Poesi

Raum de Poesi is an international cultural project dedicated to presenting contemporary poetry from all parts of the world. Based in Berlin, the initiative creates a space where poets, translators, scholars, and readers can meet through literature and intercultural dialogue. The project seeks to highlight the diversity of poetic voices and to encourage communication across linguistic, national, and artistic boundaries.

Since its foundation, Raum de Poesi has organized poetry readings, multilingual performances, literary discussions, and collaborative artistic events featuring authors from Europe, Asia, Latin America, Africa, and the Middle East. The project pays particular attention to contemporary experimental poetry, translation practices, and the interaction between literature and other forms of art such as music, visual culture, and performance.

One of the central aims of Raum de Poesi is to make world poetry accessible to wider audiences. For this reason, many events include bilingual or multilingual readings, allowing listeners to experience poetry both in the original language and in translation. The project considers literary translation an essential form of cultural exchange and actively supports translators who help bring contemporary poetry into new international contexts.

Raum de Poesi also focuses on social and historical themes reflected in modern literature. The project frequently invites authors whose work addresses migration, identity, memory, war, political change, and human rights. In this way, poetry becomes not only an artistic practice but also a means of understanding contemporary global realities and fostering empathy between cultures.

Over the years, Raum de Poesi has developed into an open international platform for poetic experimentation and cultural cooperation. By connecting writers and audiences from different countries, the project contributes to the development of a global literary community grounded in dialogue, creativity, and mutual understanding.
